24-Hour Nonstop Rescue - Pygmy Sperm Whale Successfully Returns to the Sea
Unit:Planning Division

On May 20, a two-meter long adolescent pygmy sperm whale was found stranded in the Guanyin District of Taoyuan City. Emergency tests conducted by the Marine Animal Rescue Network (MARN) showed that the whale could float on its own and had normal hearing and blood test results, a strong willingness to swim, and stable breathing and heartbeat. Therefore, at 10 AM on May 21, the MARN successfully took the pygmy sperm whale outside of the Keelung Badouzi Fishing Harbor and released it back to the ocean.
