The coral spawning season has begun. In order to create a clean spawning environment for corals, the OCA organized the first “Love the Ocean , Fight for the Ocean” ocean cleanup campaign this year at the soft coral area on the left hand side of the nuclear power plant cooling water outlet situated in Daguang Village, Hengchun Township, Pingtung County on April 19, inviting local divers and diving enthusiasts from across Taiwan to clean up the coastal waters through shore diving. More divers are urged to join the cause and fight for the ocean, in order to create a clean, safe spawning environment for the corals and foster the sustainability of the marine environment. The OCA emphasized their thanks to the efforts of local volunteers in ocean conservation and protecting the marine environment. In the future, it will continue to collaborate with local governments, volunteers, and relevant organizations to establish a comprehensive mechanism through public-private partnership. The aim is to manage and minimize trash at the source in an effort to materialize the ultimate goal of ocean conservation and resource sustainability.
