The OCA reported on the development and current status of Taiwan-U.S. marine conservation collaboration, including satellite imaging monitoring, marine pollution and law enforcement, and fishery and fish farming memorandum of understanding. The OCA also reported on the severity of marine waste in recent years and the effort it has put into integrating marine waste governance proposals. Since the U.S. has established related laws starting in 2006, it is hoped that the U.S. will engage in sharing and exchanges. In international conference participation, the OCA will continue to participate in the CBD and CITES, while paying attention to BBNJ subjects, hoping to continue exchange and cooperation with the U.S. in related issues. The U.S. representatives highly recognize Taiwan’s hard work in marine waste reduction and marine conservation. The U.S. is promoting a corporate partnership to solve marine environmental issues; and sincerely invites Taiwan to participate in APEC-related conferences held in Bali, Indonesia, from November 2 to November 3.
